Life is a lot harder when you make stupid decisions.
Police say a west side woman turned a misdemeanor shoplifting charge into a first degree felony quicker than you can say 'David Copperfield.'
Police say the woman was trying to dash out of the Family Dollar store in the 800 block of North Zarzamora late last night with some items she had not paid for.
The alarm went off as the woman tried to run out the door, and a clerk approached her.
Then things started going downhill. Police say the woman pulled a knife on the officer and fled.
When the suspect, who is described as having 'pink hair' is arrested, rather than facing a misdemeanor charge of petty shoplifting, the knife turns it into aggravated robbery, a first degree felony which carries a penalty of up to 99 years in prison.
